Pokemon Go December 2020 Field Research Tasks And Rewards

December is officially underway, and it’s shaping up to be another busy month for Pokemon Go. Developer Niantic has a variety of December events and activities lined up for the game, including a big Community Day weekend celebration. Of course, a new month also means new Field Research tasks, and another batch of those is now live along with a new Research Breakthrough encounter.

This time around, you’ll be able to encounter one of two Pokemon each time you achieve a Research Breakthrough in December 2020: Lapras or Unovan Darumaka. Both Pokemon will be available all month long. You’ll also earn bonus XP for catching either monster.

As a refresher, you’ll achieve a Research Breakthrough when you collect seven stamps. You’ll receive one stamp for the first Field Research task you complete each day. If you don’t manage to achieve a Research Breakthrough before the month ends, any stamps you’ve earned will carry over, so your progress will go toward next month’s Research Breakthrough.

Unlike Special Research tasks, Field Research is distributed at PokeStops. You’ll receive a task randomly drawn from an overall pool when you spin the Photo Disc at a Gym or PokeStop. You can see December’s Field Research tasks along with their potential rewards, as compiled by The Silph Road, below.

There’s a lot more happening in Pokemon Go this month. The Legendary Pokemon Kyurem has returned to five-star Raids, while Mega Abomasnow is appearing in Mega Raids. Shiny Celebi is also making its debut in the game this month, and Niantic is holding a two-day Community Day weekend celebration bringing back all the featured Pokemon from this year and last.
